Hi.

I switched from iPhone to s23 recently.
Now I am facing over heating issue with the new phone. The back and side portion is getting hot just after 10-15 minutes of usage. Usage means not games or other graphic intensive tasks. It is just basic things like web browsing and social media apps.

My issue is that the phone is always warm. Cpu temperature apps show reading at 32-35 initially and it rises to 40-42 °c. I feel the temperature rising slowly while holding the phone. It is not too hot but the back portion is always warm.

I have an iPhone and a one plus nord phone. I never felt this kind of issue with these phones. I feel like I made a mistake by switching to s23.

I took the phone to a service center. They flashed os again. Phone was getting warm again on checking it and when I reported they told it was normal. As per them unless the temperature reached 45-50 °c it is not an issue. They just wanted to sent me back and they were not at all listening to what I was telling since the beginning. Now I am not sure what to do.

Any body facing this heating issue please reply?

Thanks

I used S22 Ultra for a year and now using S23 Ultra since Mar-23.

Lets get in backend of the phone, the phone runs on Snapdragon 8 gen 2 processor in S23 series. This processor is running on very efficiency and take lots of power to run. This results in heating issue.

Samsung claims that they have carbon colling system in phone, which eventually cool down the phone if it got too hot (you'll be able to see blue light in cornors while playing game).

In flagship Android phone heating is very normal. I used One Plus 7T Pro before S22 Ultra for almost 2 years which was having Snapdragon 855+ processor. These processor exhel lot of heat which results in heating the device.

So don't care much about heating issue. Its normal in Android flagship phones. Don't know how Apple manages the heating issue in iPhones but they're great in managing it. Even though iPhone didn't heat in usual usage. However it does starts getting heated while using camera, video capturing and gaming.

Hope this answers your concerns.

Being in cool environment where AC or Fan is onn on high speed, phone didn't get heated in usual usage.

I got your point. The issue of heating in graphic usage is normal, but in basic use heating noticibly means something problem. First you did wrong step by leaving i phone. Anyway iphone is totally different and cant compare with android and excellent in performance too. But most of the android device getting heat. Its normal. Too much sizzling means better to shift back. You wont get proper solution at all here...

S23 runs warm in normal usage too.. i have noticed with my phone regularly, but it does not affect performance at all.. but when i do gaming the aluminum frame starts getting very warm, at that time i cannot use phone without back cover 🙃. Still it works fine.
Also after last month's security patch update i have noticed that battery drains faster. So just waiting for samsung to fix it earliest as possible.

Also will suggest not to download any 6.0 beta update, might not be stable. Already s23 drains battery. Just wait for stable 6.0 update
