Hi.

I switched to s23 recently. Now I am facing over heating issue with the new phone. The back and side portion is getting hot just after 10-15 minutes of usage. Usage means not games or other graphic intensive tasks. It is just basic things like web browsing and social media apps.

My issue is that the phone is always warm. Cpu temperature apps show reading at 32-35 initially and it rises to 40-42 °c. I feel the temperature rising slowly while holding the phone. It is not too hot but the back portion is always warm.

I was using Poco f4 before, I didn't faced any issues on that device. I feel like I made a mistake by switching to s23. Now I am not sure what to do.

Any body facing this heating issue please reply?

 Thanks

Factory reset also doesn't work, its the last software update that caused this.

A Samsung Galaxy S23 may feel warm depending on the environment. This is normal and doesn't affect the device's performance or life. However, if you notice your device heats up, you can try these steps:

Close apps

Close any apps that use a lot of power, like gaming or navigation, when not in use. You can do this by tapping the Recents button to see open apps, and then swiping up to close them.

Turn off unused features

Turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or GPS to reduce the load on your phone's battery. You can also reduce the screen brightness.

Use the Optimize now feature

In Settings, tap Battery and device care, then tap Optimize now. You can also add the Optimize now widget to your home screen.

Avoid direct sunlight

Too much direct sunlight can cause the S23 to get hotter. You can try to keep the device shaded or covered with a cloth when outside for long periods of time on sunny days.

Check case ventilation

A poorly ventilated case can trap heat generated by the phone over time. Use a well-designed case that allows heat dissipation and ensure no blockage of ventilation ports.

Deselect the enhanced processing setting

This setting consumes more battery and processes apps by using more CPU power, which can cause the phone to heat up.

I have the same problem on S22 ultra. This started after the last update. Normal usage is also causing the device to heat up in 15 minutes and battery is also draining faster
