Galaxy SI recently bought an exynos S21 Ultra and Media Storage is draining up to 78% of my battery.
Sometimes I need to charge up to 4 times a day an brand new, 5000mah battery, very expensive, phone.
Sometimes even device care flags Media Storage as draining to much and asks to close it. Witch I do.
The phone cools down and the battery drain stops for about 10 minutes and then the cycle restart.
This is very frustrating.
Already tried:
Factory Reset
Wipe Cache
Reset battery level
Disabling the running on background option for the app.
What I could not find is the "wipe cache" for this app. I found solution for this on other Android forums with people wiping the cache. But there's no such option for Android 11/s1 ultra.
HELP!

Galaxy SI have backups running, but I'm in my house and the phone is connected 100% of the time to Wi-Fi6 with good signal strength.
I'll try to disable backups and see any change, thanks.

Galaxy STry battery calibration also. Let phone discharge completely and charge it full. Repeat 2 to 3 times and check.

Galaxy SFor all you guys looking at heavy battery drains! I was experiencing the same... Is media storage hogging your battery? In that case it is because you have uncategorised files and the system is trying to categorise it. I had switched from an apple device to android. So I used MobileTrans WhatsApp transfer. That generated around 50-60GB of unrecognised files. That was the reason for my battery drain. The solution to this is save a cloud backup, uninstall WhatsApp, delete the WhatsApp folder, reinstall WhatsApp, restore from cloud and once messages are restored and media starts restoring, go to Google drive and delink account. Basically the media files aren't being recognised. Before all of this, if you have any media you really need, then save it into Google photos and then do the process... My mobile is back to normal, no heating up, no more excessive battery drain!
