S21 FE

I have an S21 FE and I have noticed that after I have exited MS Edge, there is a delay of maybe 3 to 5 seconds before the phone responds to touch.

Also, sometimes after unlocking with fingerprint, there is no response, I have to lock it and unlock again then it works fine. Anyone has similar issues or a solution?

1. Are you using a launcher?
2. Not me 🤔 It could be a bug. Try restarting the device to refresh the system!

Hi, yes I'm using Nova launcher prime. I restart the device daily and still have the issue.

Ahhh, welcome to the sad part about having a launcher (I am a prime user too - btw, go on their page on twitter and get the V8.2 Update.). I'm assuming you have gesture support turned on? So, if you do and didn't know, Google has made it difficult for launchers to work harmoniously with gestures since Android 10. Nova launcher explained it on its Twitter page. So yeah, you'll see a 1-4 second delay when going home before being able to do anything else. If you have gestures active then yeah, we're all living with it until Google fixes it 😮 💨

@DatGuy thanks, I'll go have a look on their page. And yes, I have gesture support acitvated. Maybe I'll try deactivating it and see how it goes. I wonder why Google makes things difficult, like limiting 3rd party camera apps etc. Thanks for your time in explaining this .

I was mistaken, it started with Android 9. 10 is when Google allowed gestures with 3rd party launchers. You are also welcome for the explanation 👌

I changed the home app back to one ui, and the lag is gone. Thanks so much for all the info.

But I still prefer Nova, so like you said , we'll wait until Google fixes it.
