Samsung has started rolling out the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update to the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in India. The new software carries build number G781BXXU4DUL9 and includes the December 2021 security patch. Apart from the Indian market, Samsung also has released the Android 12 update to the carrier-locked models of the Galaxy S20 FE.

If you are using the Galaxy S20 FE in India or the US, you might have received the Android 12 update’s notification on your smartphone. If not, you can head over to the Settings > Software update section of your device and click on Download and install.
The Android 12 update brings One UI 4.0 to the Galaxy S20 FE along with improved stock apps and a lot of other new and improved features. The update includes improved Bixby, Bixby Routines, Samsung Internet, and Samsung Keyboard. Samsung has also improved AoD mode, Dark Mode, AR Emoji Stickers, widget picker menu, the stock camera app, and accessibility features such as Extra Dim screen brightness setting.
Of course, Samsung has added quick setting toggles for enabling and disabling camera and microphone access across the phone. The company has also implemented privacy indicators to notify users when the phone is using the camera or microphone. There is a Privacy Dashboard, too, if you want to look at which apps have accessed your phone’s camera, microphone, and location.
