One UI 7 Breaks Dual Messenger Support

Samsung’s One UI 7 update has introduced a major inconvenience for users who rely on Dual Messenger to run two WhatsApp accounts. The feature simply doesn't work anymore — the second WhatsApp instance fails to open or fails to signup, leaving many dual-SIM users stranded.

While WhatsApp technically allows adding a second number within the same app, there's a persistent bug: if you enable app lock for the secondary account, the app crashes every time you try to unlock it. Users are forced into a frustrating loop — reopen WhatsApp, scan their finger, and repeat. It's practically unusable for anyone who values privacy and security.

That's why Dual Messenger was the go-to workaround — until One UI 7 broke that too. In desperation, some users (like me) have resorted to downgrading their OS, sacrificing all the improvements of One UI 7 just to restore reliable dual WhatsApp access.

Samsung needs to fix this — urgently. Until then, power users are stuck choosing between new features or essential functionality.
