Hey, it's been a recurring discussion about this phone's screen presenting green lines as it gets older. But some people are suggesting that updating the phone is causing the green line.
I am not a phone technician, but I am a computer/Laptop technician.
The green line in my theory could be caused by faulty contacts in the flat cable that connects the phone's screen to the motherboard. That, or the screen itself is having a short-circuit which is causing the lines.
In short, it's a Hardware issue.
Now what causes it is up for debate. It could be the repeated heating cycles, it could be dropping your phone, it could be moisture damage (yes, it's IP68 rated, but it doesn't mean you should be letting it be wet constantly)
People will download an update and see their phone get a green line after it, put 2 and 2 together and say this caused the issue, but in reality that simply makes no sense. A software update causing a hardware malfunction.
Maybe your phone heated during the update and it was about to display the hardware fault, and the heat from updating triggered it.
Try to keep the phone cool. Take it off the case, let it rest on a cool surface (metal, stone, whathave you) do NOT have it charge while it's updating, and let it do it's thing.
If you do get green lines remember to contact Samsung support, and tell them your story. But don't come around saying "DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PHONE OR YOU WILL GET GREEN LINES" because it is nonsensical

Few Guidelines During Update-
1. Initially charge the phone to 80-90%.
2. Refrain from charging during installation.
3. An air-conditioned environment is optimal for installation and subsequent phone placement.
4. Allow sufficient time before initial use.

Kindly keep your phone in an air-conditioned room while updating; if you do not have air conditioning, keep it in the refrigerator during the update.
By the way Ultra Pro Max Legends keep their phones in freezer during updates and installations. 🙏
