having lot of issues with network , most of my contacts and family say that they are not able to reach me; this has happened many times since I started using s8 -airtel , I didn't have any issues earlier on my note 5

yes it happened on my phone(s8) too but it lasted only for few minites.
If this is not case with your phone try to reset or cotact the service centre
