I purchased samsung S 24 recently, it was working smooth untill i dialed *#*#4636#*#* via google dialer. The moblie network settings then changed from to connect my phone always to 5g.Before that during calls it sticked to 5g always when settings from 5g/lte/3g.. to 5g preffered.

Now settings shows 5g preffered but when i make calls it automatically shifted to lte.

There is nothing wrong. Even if you had set "5G preferred" and the signal strength falls below 20dB phone will switch to LTE. It is not a defect but a fail safe feature.

Besides I am surprised how *#*#4636#*#* worked in your S24 phone. It does not open the menu !!!. I too own a S24 😊

No. I too use eSIM. Mine too is set 5G preferred. Try in a strong 5G area. It should work.
