Galaxy SFor recovery menu you need a PC/LAPTOP or a Type C headphones.
Once you have any of them, Shut down your phone.
Connect your phone to PC or Connect your Type C headphones.
Press and hold Power Button and Vol+ until you see Samsung screen.
When Samsung pops up leave power button but keep holding Vol+.
Then you will see recovery menu.
Clean Cache from there.
If still issue persists, Take backup and reset your device.
If that helped or solved your query "Accept as solution" will be appreciated.

Galaxy SI have hade more than lag issues - this update started by corrupting my files and forcing a factory reset. The UI has suffered as well, I can't close an app with a swipe up in landscape orientation. This is my most common orientation. I keep switching and sliding but never actually closing anything. I have been in IT for over 25 years. The balance of probability says that you guys changed your staff , and that they are trying to prove themselves, and we're suffering for it. The next highest probability is that your testing team is full of idiots that put an apostrophe into every word they can...except for the ones that need them. Fix it. I should be able to close an app in the landscape-style app-switch view. This phone cost me $800 and the service $90/month, and this feature was prevalent *long* before these purchases.
