How effective is the 'Instant Slo-Mo' feature in low-light conditions on the S24 Ultra, and does it impact video quality?

Its effectiveness in low-light conditions can be somewhat different.
In low-light conditions, the Instant Slo-Mo feature may not work as seamlessly as it does in brighter environments. This is because the feature relies on the device's ability to detect motion and adjust the frame rate accordingly. In low light, the device's motion detection capabilities might be impaired, leading to inconsistent or poor slow-motion performance.
Regarding video quality, the Instant Slo-Mo feature itself doesn't necessarily impact video quality. However, the low-light conditions might introduce noise, grain, or other artifacts that could affect the overall video quality.
To get the best out of the Instant Slo-Mo feature, even in low-light conditions, try the following:
- *Use a tripod or stabilizer*: This will help reduce camera shake and blur, allowing the feature to work more effectively.
- *Adjust the exposure*: Try adjusting the exposure settings to let more light into the camera. This might help improve the feature's performance.
- *Use additional lighting*: If possible, add external light sources to improve the overall lighting conditions.
Keep in mind that the Instant Slo-Mo feature is not available on all video modes, such as 8K or HDR video.
Personally I would rather record in 1x speed and playback in slower speed.
