I was just looking at all the 'features' of the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, and it struck me just how similar it is to the iPhone now. I hate everything about Apple, from their lack of innovation and customisability, to their inhibitive and depressing user experience, and I'm appalled at the way Samsung is aggressively competing with and emulating them.

  • The boxy edges and the rectangular, sharp corners were what made the Ultra phone the new Galaxy 'Note'. Apple made the corners of their phones rounder, and so Sammy naturally had to copy them. The rounded edges on the new S25 Ultra take away the phone's uniqueness and make it generic and blasé. Meh.
  • The 'Now Bar' is a replica of Apple's Dynamic Island. Mega Meh, because Edge Panels exist, and do the job so much more efficiently and elegantly.
  • The Notification Panel is, once again, a replica of Apple. Swipe down from the right for controls, and left for notifications. Bleurgh.
  • The S-Pen. Where do I even begin to express my disappointment? The Bluetooth S-Pen was what separated the Ultra from EVERY OTHER DEVICE on the market. The hardware still exists on the phone, so I have no doubt that Samsung will sell the Bluetooth version of the S-Pen separately for $200, similar to what Apple does with the Pencil. Terrible move, Sammy. Your greed knows no limits. Don't tell me you removed it because people hardly used it. That is inherently false - I use the features almost every single day.
  • The new Samsung earbuds and watch look identical to Apple's airpods and Ultra watch. I hated the stem design of the airpods, and loved what Samsung did with their buds previously, but now that is gone, too.
  • Samsung made fun of Apple for removing the headphone jack and charger in the box and introducing the notch, but promptly made the same changes to their own products in the subsequent years.

Listen, Samsung, if I so badly wanted the Apple experience, I would go and purchase an Apple device. I bought your stuff because I couldn't stand Apple and their restrictive policies. Why should I do so any longer, when you're just an Apple-wannabe now and blindly ape their stupidity?

Remember phones like the Note 9, where we got
1. A headphone jack
2. A microSD card slot
3. A BLUETOOTH S-PEN
4. IP68 dust and water resistance
5. Multiple biometric options, including an Iris Scanner (which worked flawlessly), a fingerprint reader and a face unlock.
6. A Super Amoled display with Corning Gorilla glass protection
7. A charger in the box.
8. AKG tuned wired earphones in the box, along with spare eartips.
9. A USB-A to USB-C convertor.
10. Spare S-Pen tips and a removal tool.
11. A case in the box.
12. The heart rate and SpO2 monitors.

Yeah, those were good times. Samsung were pioneers and innovators, and actually cared about what customers wanted. Now, they remove features every year, and call that 'innovation'. They are lazy, and compete with Apple every year to see who can set the bar the lowest. Shame on you, Samsung - you charge such premium prices and basically cheat your clients. You should just rebrand yourself as Scamsung at this point.

Hi.

You have perfectly portrayed the disappointment and frustration of the Samsung customers!
Apparently, Samsung is copying Apple features to attract and bring in the Apple fanboys to them, by making their life easy after switching. 😂

However, they forgot that due to this they have lost their identity and credibility and started to land into a mess now. Grand entry of Google in Samsung ecosystem is a whirlwind which may take Samsung to the top or may just scatter it.... , which looks more imminent.

The Games of Power and Money are beyond the comprehension of a common man. 😊😊

Omg, Samsung's really doing all this just to lure the Apple cultists? That's a lost cause, and the stupidest thing I've heard 😂 Do better, Samsung! You are where you are, not because you're an Apple clone, but because your innovations were novel, practical, useful, and always out-of-the-box.

Samsung thinks that replicating many features or design as apple is innovative, but they don't realise that apple was never better than Samsung. Now, they have lost track of almost everything. Samsung will soon end up like nokia if they don't do everything "The Samsung's Way".
Below are the companies they're in collaboration with as per my observation, or you can say, sale or share our confidential data indirectly or directly IDK
•Onedrive owned by Microsoft used by Samsung for cloud storage for backing up photos and videos. You can find this in gallery settings. But I think Microsoft is vulnerable in some ways, and I don't want my data on their cloud server if it's not completely owned by Samsung itself or have their own cloud.
•Hiya is used in as Caller ID and Spam protection owned by private company, not sure if it's a good idea. But no complaints. Jk I'm concerned why not have your own Samsung?
•Google: Man this company knows me better than my mom nvm.

Samsung smartphone brand is not a small company. Why rely on other companies? Build everything on your own that looks more manly.

I actually think that it is a good thing that a company does not have the monopoly and final say on the user experience, and that Samsung collaborates with other major players in a big way. One reason I so strongly dislike Apple is the fact that they create a walled garden and dictate what apps will or will not work, and what the user can and cannot do. There is zero flexibility or customisability. On the other hand, I can choose to back up data the way I want on Samsung and other Android devices, and there is no mandated process. I can backup my whatsapp data locally on one Android device and manually transfer that to another Android device with ease and set it up. Or I can back it up to Google (even though I hate that Google snoops on everything I do), and just as easily restore it on another device. Similarly, saving to OneDrive is optional, and I always manually transfer files between devices, but if I choose to back up my data to OneDrive, I can just login on a different device and be able to look at all my information. I know this may seem like a vulnerability and a security concern, but Android is an open-source platform and based on the foundations of flexibility,  transparency and ease of use, and is quite robust and secure if you know what you're doing.
