Hello Members, since Privacy Display is a hot topic now, i wanted to show you how you can have it Automatically Turned On & Off through Routines for a specific scenario.
Although the feature is Gen 1, and doesn't completely blackout the screen unlike what you see on videos online (it dims it), it's still a genius innovation by Samsung, a world first that will get better and better in the next iterations.
In my case, I live all by myself, and don't need the privacy display when I'm at home, and would like to be able to see my screen from all angles at all times, but i need it to be on when i leave the house, without the need to remember to turn it on.
Well, i found a solution through Routines, a very powerful and useful feature that i use.
If you find yourself in the same scenario, follow the below steps to have it automated :
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll down to Modes And Routines.
- Select Routines from the Bottom.
- Press the + sign on the Upper Right.
- Select the + sign under If.
- Scroll down & Select Wi-fi Network.
- Select Disconnected.
- Select the + sign (Add)
- Select your Home Wi-Fi Network.
- Press Done.
- Select the + sign under Then.
- Press on Search on the Upper Right.
- Type Privacy untill Privacy Display appears.
- Select On, if needed, Select Maximum Privacy Protection.
- Press Done.
- Review settings as per my screenshots below or as per your preferences, then Press Save.
- Enter a Routine Name, Select a Color and an Icon, then Press Save.
- You will see your Routine under Automatic Routines.
- If needed, you can Press & Hold it, then press Delete.
So now, with the power of Automation & Routines, whenever I leave the house and my Home Wi-fi is disconnected, the Privacy Display is Automatically Switched On, and whenever I'm back home, it Automatically Switches Off!
