The Update was possibly known to mess with the *Battery Life* and some other known issues

That is the Complication, At one end, Users want Updates even if they mess up the major pros of the phone, But the wise ones know, The OEM will try and mess with the device deliberately or unknowingly to make the user upgrade to there newer models!(Economic Term known as Planned Obsolescence)

The only feature worth it in OneUI 6 would be Auto Blocker and Fixed Security Loopholes!
And remember, here the most concerning thing after the update would be, OEM not allowing us to downgrade the software if there is some major update! Incase someone is dissatisfied with the update

So Stay Safe Folks!

I am Running One UI 5.1 and that too on Max Settings with QHD+ Resolution and 120 Hz and on Light Performance Mode(With Remove Animations Enabled just to get that Instant Snappiness) and Battery life has been nothing short of Ossum!

They can f with anything they want, Just dont mess with the battery life!

I did not spend 1 Lakh INR of my Precious Money(That too EMI!!) to Sign up for that!

P.S: I can vouch for the Functionality of this phone in sense of overall productivity of this phone, which is light years ahead of an Fruit that keeps the doctor away!(Atleast for me), So I dont need any reason for it to take it away from me

P.S: If they would just stop those annoying Update the Phone Notifications, Maybe I could never upgrade the software and peacefully use the phone for half the decade or so...(Except for Battery Change later on)

If 4 Years of Software Updates are gonna Inadvertently lead to this outcome, Then atleast I am Happy if even 1 Year of Updates are provided, Given they dont mess with the core functions later on like Battery, Display, Sound, Camera and the Sheer Processing Power of the Phone, That is Advertised to us at the time of launch!(OEM's know this in regards that whatever publicity is created of the phone at its launch, It stays with it for rest of its lifespan, as reviews come out then, people are not always adamant on watching things like long term review and stuff and my phone has had pretty nice track record in the same, and its not without a reason being called "King of Android's")

Just the Security Updates would be fine!

Also, Let me tell you, the facts I have presented in this post are not out of the blue, I have had first hand experience regarding this in my Galaxy S9, Where after upgrading to Android 9(Pie) from 8(Oreo) drastically affected its battery life!(SOT of around 2 to 3 hours currently) No Doubt that phone is still running fine with Android 10 except for some minor stutters(Thanks to its outdated hardware)

Thanks for Reading till here! If any of your Executives come across this post, No Offence meant to anyone, Its just based on my Personal Experience and Insights and Research!

Also Please ensure that No One Comments that You should format your phone after a major update to get all things rectified, Its not like I am Installing some other OS in my Phone, Its the still same old Android! If the Update is supposed to be done with Clean Installation, then maybe the Update needs more work done upon it

I just hope that the Phones which come in Black Retail Boxes are to be treated with Respect in all the given regards, Till the end of there lives and do'nt have to face the fate of some of the phones in white boxes in later stages of there life!

Moral of the Long story in short is not to fall trap for updates. Be happy and content with what you have rather than fall prey to the trap of always wanting more.

I totally agree with you and fall in the same category as you.

Add to that battery concern of yours, the very high probability of getting a complimentary line in your display along with an update. If I were you, I will never update until I have realised the money spent on the device has been taken out....

The update has been good for the battery. Am completely stock with my S23U & it gives me a day's standby easily from 85% to 20% on average use with SOT if roughly 6hrs on 5G.

To each people their own. I bought my phone to be updated with latest security, I preferred longitivity. and updates is service I paid for so would definitely update my phone. One UI 6 might be buggy, but 6.1 would solve thr issue like always with samsung's X.1 updates.
Battery has been good too I still get 6 hours of SOT on A53 while battery capped at 85. So I don't really know what OP is going on about

Using Android 14 from last month and no issues with battery for me so far ,android 14 has fixed major standby drain and now its only just 2% overnight drain for me which previously was 4-5% on android13.And let me tell you one thing, this update doesn't mess with Battery life instead you'll see some good battery results. This is just a misconception that brands will try to degrade the performance and battery life with new os update but its just for the device longitivity and safety.

And you can update it without any worries, I can assure you.

You can read other s23 u posts on reddit-

To each to there Experience Sir!

No Offence but you literally have all the Samsung Related Posts with Members Icon on your DP!

So you seem to be a staunch supporter of OEM's all the things, regardless of other's Experience

P.S: Dont forget about GoS Thing which was bought to light after users noticed it
