You're on wifi or 4g/5g? A poor network reception can warm up the phone. I've been using my S23 for the last 19 months, the only time it gets really warm (not hot) when I use it for Google maps for a few hours other than that it doesn't heat up.

You recently bought it right! Use it for few days, maybe the phone will adjust to your usage pattern. If the heating persist then I'd suggest you take it to the service centre, cuz at times during sale some faulty products are also cleared by sellers. In the last one week only I had to return a power bank which burnt and a overheating SanDisk SSD, garbage does get mixed up with good stuff.
