Galaxy SIt directly depends on Google play services. It might disappear while self updating the app.
You might need to follow a few additional steps.
1. Open Settings on the device.
2. Tap Apps
3. Scroll down and Select Google Play services . Select Storage then Clear Cache
4. Tap the back button, Scroll to Google Play Store Select Storage then tap Clear Cache and Clear Data. If the app is disabled, enable it.
5. Restart your device.

Galaxy S1. Open Settings on the device.
2. Tap Apps
3. Scroll down and Select Google Play services . Select Storage then Clear Cache
