Anyone managed to set Gemini as their default voice assistance on their device? Especially if you are using an S23 Ultra?

I couldn't help but notice some devices automatically changed to Gemini as their default voice assistance but on my S23 Ultra i have to launch the Gemini app for me to be able to use it. Pressing the power button wakes Bixby.

Turn off Bixby, via power button In settings and you'll be good to go

Also your default is set to Bixby, choose Google then that won't happen

Thanks👏

I managed to enable google Voice "Hey, google" on google Settings. That was my issue as it was disabled.. that's why i couldn't wake Google/Gemini.. also, my phones language is in Japanese, and that's why i couldn't wake google/gemini with a voice command 🫣

I thought it was possible to use Gemini through the power button, but no.. only Bixy can wake from the power button 😅 but i guess i can use both Bixby (through the power button) and Gemini (through voice command)👏

Thanks again.

Remap the Bixby button

Download the Google Assistant app from the Play Store

Go to System settings

Go to Modes and routines

Tap the Routines tab

Tap the Plus icon

In the If section, search for Button action

Select Press and hold

In the Then section, tap Apps

Select Open an app or do an action

Select Open assistant

Tap Done

Hit Save

Name the routine

Long press or double tap the power key

Gemini works hand in with that Google app you see as an option below Bixby. Choose that and Gemini becomes default
