I am using Galaxy S9 with Aitel SIM. However, when the phone is idle for a long time, during that time if there is any incoming call or I try to make an outgoing call, I noticed that VoLTE signal is lost and the phone switches to 3G/2G network whichever applicable.
Sometimes after the call, the phone regains 4G VoLTE signal. But in some cases, VoLTE signal never comes back. It only catches LTE signal. Also if I roam in 2G/3G area for a long time and make calls, and when I return to 4G VoLTE area, I only get back 4G signal but no VoLTE. In order to get back VoLTE signal, only option is to restart the phone. Alterantively, turn on airplane mode and then turn it off.
First I thought it might be due to any application that is installed. So I did a factory reset and tested the situation without any 3rd party apps. Unfortunately that did not solve the issue.
I am using the same network (Airtel) on other device (Honor 9 lite) and I did not face any issue.
Anyone else experienced this issue? Is this a firmware bug or network issue. Thanks in advance.
