Galaxy S
When my phone is frozen I usually wait until the battery drains and then charge it and restart it and it works for me.

Galaxy S
Try force resetting it and or entering recovery mode to clear data/clear cache/reboot. I would recommend factory resetting again by Hard reset.
To Soft reboot:
Press and hold the “Power” and “Volume Down” buttons for eight to twenty seconds and the device will eventually turn off.
Hard Reseting:
Press and hold “Volume Up“, then press and release “Power“. If you did everything correctly, the Samsung Galaxy logo will appears, and it will say “Recovery Booting” in the upper-left corner of the screen.
To Soft reboot:
Press and hold the “Power” and “Volume Down” buttons for eight to twenty seconds and the device will eventually turn off.

Galaxy SHi, karp please perform a soft reset of your device.
Press and hold the power and volume down buttons for about 10 seconds.
*The device may take a screenshot, however, keep holding the buttons for a few more seconds. This is a soft reset and will not factory reset your phone.
