Hello Guys,

I did a factory reset of my phone and after that when I tried to restore my backup data it started asking for recovery code for enhanced data protection. I haven't set any or I remember anything like that. How do I recover or turn off enhanced data protection?

It comes when I goto settings - account and backup and backup. Suddenly a pop up comes to enter recovery code.

Here is the way to recover recovery code.

2. Goto I lost recovery code section
3. Click on inquiry link.
4. When URL opens, change countryCode=US to countryCode=IN and submit or enter.
5. When the form opens after changing countryCode to IN, fill the form data, provide all your information in it.
6. When 2-4 days they will reset.

Thanks.

Ya you're fu***d.
I too lost all my WhatsApp messages this way. Lesson learnt, never forget your encryption key.
(If you haven't understood yet, there's no way to recover that data without the key.)

The only way to resolve the issue is 'reset EDP state'.
If you have the Encrypted backed up data with the account, then ALL EDP backed up data will be deleted after EDP state reset.

So if you agree on above,
* please Request us 'EDP state reset' through Samsung Cloud > more > Settings > Contact us
> We will check your request and reset your EDP state (delete EDP backup also)
> You need to turn Encrypt backup data on again to encrypt your cloud data after EDP state reset.
