Galaxy SDear Samsung Member,
Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!
Please perform the below mentioned step to resolve the issue:
1) The device may not recognize fingerprints that are affected by wrinkles, small or thin fingers.
2) To improve recognition performance, register fingerprints of the hand used most often to perform tasks on the device.
3) Ensure that the screen protector or the touchscreen on the fingerprint recognition sensor area is not scratched or damaged by objects, such as coins, keys, pens, and necklaces.
4) Ensure that your fingers are not wet, they should be clean and dry.
For further assistance, register your concern in Samsung Members Application (Open Samsung Members Application > click on “+“icon > send feedback > error report/ask questions).
Thank you for writing to Samsung.
Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support

Galaxy SThe generic response given by your team would not suffice the problem. Importantly I don't have wrinkled or small fingers and am not an aged person, so, this is an extremely lame excuse. Also, this is not the first phone that I have been using that has an in display finger print sensor. Almost every in display finger print sensor in the available smartphones in the market can easily work with tampered glass and they are doing so. So, another absurd reason.
Regarding scratches and all, the phone never supported the finger print sensing like other phones do right from the moment when I unboxed it a month ago.
Kindly provide the solution, merely answering the query in such a generic way would not mean that samsung is rendering its support to the customers. This is a pathetic response. You guys need to get in touch with the people directly who have posted their problem and come up with the solution. I hope I will be contacted by samsung personnel with a solution.

Galaxy SI am facing the same problem. I have tried each and everything but all in vain. Whenever I try to register my fingerprint, it prompts to place the finger in the center properly and despite of doing it the right way, it says your fingerprint can't be registered. It is ridiculous to witness such problem in samsung phone whereas on the other hand other cheaper mobile phones have their in display finger print sensors function properly.
It feels as if Samsung is using poor quality fingerprint sensors and taking undue advantage of its brand value. When I see people unlock their Oneplus phones in a jiffy, it makes me feel like why did I go for this model.
Samsung, kindly rectify this problem else you'll be losing your customers and definitely the other when they are going to see such reviews on social media platforms.
