Contacts are vanishing automatically.

On my galaxy s22 ultra I have been experiencing a annoying problem. Just the other day I noticed that 5 or 6 contacts are been deleted from my phone contact which is not done by me or anyone else. I had to save those contact infornation again one by one. May be there are many more contacts which have also been deleted but I have not noticed yet.

Can Anyone enlighten me why this is happening & how to prevent this from happening? Thanks.

1. If you give permission to modify contacts to any application it can modify or delete it.

2. If you have saved it into google may be it is an issue of your google account.

3. Or if you save it in sim card it may have some error.

Thank you so much for your insightful answer. My contacts are synced with google. While using other phones (s21 ultra, google pixel 4a, iphone 11), I have never come into this issue. I made no change on my google account setting recently as well.

And I just went through the apps that have permission to modify my contact & disallow the sketchy ones. Lets see if this solves this issue.

If anything more comes up in mind regarding this, please let me know.

I too had that problem. I found out it's the dual messenger that is messing up. Remove and clear all settings for dual messenger  and problem is gone.

Settings -> Advanced features -> Dual Messenger -> (Three dots at the top right corner) ->  Delete all my data
