Okay so this has been bugging me for a while, and I wanna see if others have noticed this too.
I had a Moto G72 — bought it in Kerala — and after like 1.5 years, boom green and pink lines outta nowhere. At first I thought maybe it’s just bad luck, but then I saw a bunch of my college friends in Kerala having the same issue with AMOLED phones — not just Moto, even Samsung and OnePlus.
Now here’s where it gets interesting — I moved to the western part of India (near a desert), and yeah it’s still hot here, but there’s basically no humidity. And so far, I haven’t seen a single friend here get the green line issue. Not one.
I’ve also started noticing a pattern in Reddit posts — a lot of people complaining about green lines seem to be from the southern states, especially Kerala. So now I’m kinda wondering if this is climate-related — like maybe the combo of high humidity + heat in places like Kerala and coastal TN is affecting AMOLED screens faster?
I know this isn’t exactly scientific, but the difference is too noticeable to ignore.
So I’m curious:
Where are you from?
Have you or your friends had green/pink line issues?
What phone was it and how long did it take?
Especially Samsung users — what’s been your experience?
It's not about basically kerala or south Indian states, I m from Assam and I got samsung s23 which is 1year 6 months old, after the oneui7 update few days later another patch update arrived after updating that few days later suddenly I got green line ,my friend got s23 ultra and he Got the same green lines and pink line issue too suddenly,

Yep assam is also very humid, and it is through out the year, and can get warm too. Same as kerala. Philippines is also in southern most part of Asia, ofcourse it has tropical environment. I think from my analysis i can be pretty correct here that humidity and heat is a major factor for green lines.
Not totally i m using other brands phones too, and second thing I got a redmagic too where i play games a lot and do most of the editing stuffs , and that phone mostly stays at heat mode coz the fan got damaged for some reason but till today there is no sign of greenline, reality is oneui7 is the biggest failure
If samsung consider S series as flagship models they need to make sure it outstands everything, even my iPhone 12 iPhone XR gets highest heat issue too but still till today no green lines and both are running on latest update provided by apple
