i think its because they have optimised for s series phones which have the fingerprint placed a bit lower side on screen

They will fix it in future updates

So, they release a buggy update for a month or two, knowing some users will upgrade, thinking there's a problem. Then, they fix it with a good update to keep their loyal customers, you know?
