Galaxy S
Hi Samsung Admin/Devs,
After being in the Samsung ecosystem for years (S7 and Note 5 -> S9+ and Note 9 -> Note 20 Ultra -> S22 Ultra -> S23 Ultra) (in parallel to using flagships from other leading Android Brands as my secondary devices), this is one of the most missed feature in the current era of Galaxy S devices.
I feel it should be a fairly easy feature request to bake into an upcoming OTA where users are given the choice of:
1. Enabling Adaptive refresh rate regardless of the power saving mode (PSM). Currently it falls back to Standard mode when enabling PSM.
2. A separate toggle for regular power saving vs. Ultra power saving mode (which is currently hidden as a toggle within the current power saving mode setting).
This is my first ever post on this community forum and I hope my thoughts are welcomed!
There are XDA members who have developed an app to make this happen (and must I add very successfully) so I am fairly confident that Samsung can do this too given HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE OUT THERE looking for this feature. It gives the user to experience the same fluidity across the UI as well as allowing them to extract even more battery juice.
Hope this helps create a business case/PEQ request internally so that it can be released in the upcoming OTAs.
Please do share an update here. Eagerly waiting to hear back from Samsung team on this.
PS: I am a super active member of the XDA community, Oneplus community and the Oppo Global community and the brands DO LISTEN to the feedback that actually benefits their end users! 🙂
