I understand your disappointment with not getting 5G service on your Galaxy S24 FE even after the March security update. It's frustrating to have a 5G-capable phone and not be able to use the service.
Let's explore the possible reasons and solutions. First, could you tell me which country you are in?
The most common reasons for 5G not working are:
Carrier Incompatibility: Your phone may not be compatible with the specific 5G bands used by Jio or Airtel in your area.
Software Issues: A software bug or misconfiguration can prevent 5G from working properly.
Hardware Issues: Although less likely, a hardware defect could be preventing 5G connectivity.
SIM Card Issues: Your SIM card may not be 5G-enabled, or there may be an issue with the SIM card itself.
Since you've already received the March security update, let's try these troubleshooting steps:
Check Preferred Network Type:
Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile networks.
Make sure "5G/LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)" is selected as the preferred network type.
Reset Network Settings:
Go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset network settings.
Note: This will reset your Wi-Fi passwords and Bluetooth pairings, so you'll need to re-enter them.
Contact Your Carrier:
Contact Jio or Airtel customer care and confirm that your account is provisioned for 5G and that your SIM card is 5G-enabled.
Ask them if there are any known network issues in your area or if your phone model is compatible with their 5G network.
Check Samsung Community Forums: Search the Samsung Community forums online to see if other users with the Galaxy S24 FE in your area are experiencing the same issue.
Regarding the hope of enabling 5G connectivity:
Yes, there is definitely hope! If the issue is due to software, carrier provisioning, or network compatibility, there's a good chance that it can be resolved with a software update, a new SIM card, or changes to your carrier settings.
However, if the issue is due to a hardware defect, a repair or replacement may be necessary. Please let me know the country you are in for a more tailored experience.
