S21 FE had pre-installed A12 whereas regular S21 series had pre-installed A11. A13 was the first major update for FE as it was released an year after regular S21 series, don't refer wikipedia instead go to samsung's official website.

check below First update Released with U1BUL5 build

if they released with A12 Out of box then build ver. should be AUL5 not BUL5 here A=0 and B=1 Prefer As OS Installed. you can check Another Samsung Devices any Series Mobile Update History.

But even as per Samsung records, out of the box is A12 for FE if you visit their official website where it was sold. Thus, build number doesn't matter.

There must team designed the build number so it makes it easier for corporate and client engagement and easier to understand. And official release in Korea was with A11.

Reasons if can't are alot. First the processor will be old and security patches will come from Qualcomm, Android OS patch from Google, Samsung doing the integration and test. And that's a lot of R&D.

Apple designs the whole thing itself and is not dependent on third party for soft patches for hardware. So Apple giving 7+ years makes sense.

But for Android ecosystem, it will take some time as companies are dependent on third parties for a lot of issues.

If you interested for a 10 year Android update then you can check Fairphone 5.

I think a same but fishy is from knox site stating security patch till Jan 2027 which is same as s22

A16 is doubt (may issue or may not)but patch till 2027 is sure I guess

Yes. Since the release was delayed due to chip shortage and was released on Jan 2022 so security will start from the period.

Upgrades are doubtful.
