Wait for Oreo

Why people are so much concerned about Oreo update on Samsung Note 8? is it because they paid huge sum to buy or is it because people around them are all migrated to Oreo already? or want to show off their new phone with Oreo?...

Note 8 looks wise it's unbeatable in the current market...and it can do every damn thing with current OS version. so why so much worried about Oreo? I can wait for more time until Samsung fixes all the hissing ******* sounds after Oreo FOTA update.

Perhaps Note 8 may best gel with nougat as majority of the developments were done. Note 9 series will be good with next versions of android. so be patience until Samsung releases the most stablest version for note series.

If you think Oreo is going to double your phone performance, double your battery life...I will leave it up to your imagination.. But nothing of that sort gonna happen as it will eat up more memory and consume more power....

dude no doubt note 8 is a great device , i personally chose it over pixel 2 and iPhone X . But can you imagine how much time will it take to deliver the updates . Dude i know Samsung skins are heavily customised and for my it looks great . But note 8 is Samsung's best device to till date so all small things such as delivering update late actually matters , for people like me i need emoji 5.0 support , i came from iPhone 7 iOS11 . You could laugh at it but trust me for a regular emoji user this Suc*s . I get boxes with crosses when another user sends me those emojis in Instagram . I really don't need anything else . But some other user would want something else . These are the small things so are neglected by other users . I have no issue about the update BUT WHENEVER YOU CONTACT ANY SAMSUNG MEMBER (CARE,FEEDBACK) THEY WILL SAY THEY DON'T HAVE A CLUE ABOUT IT . ATLEAST PROVIDE US SOME ESTIMATION DATE DUDE LIKE WE IF YOU GUYZ DON'T HAVE INFORMATION THEN WHO HAS IT . THE DAY S8 GOT ANDROID O i asked the care about it and they said they don't have any information . Like they why they made this app

I agree with this post. I have this same opinion and I have shared it previously here. I prefer a stable nougat OS rather than a buggy Oreo update. Yes I admit that few OEMs other than google have started giving out Oreo. But you should also note that all those devices are facing major bugs.

Samsunh cannot compete with Google on this regard because Google owns Android. Samsung cannot catch Oneplus either beacuse they have just 2 phones per year.
And regarding security patches, its another gimmick by Google to make their customers feel happy about new updates. Samsung quickly gives security update if any major flaw is detected. Even my 3 yr old Note4 got a security update 2 months back.
I'm ok with Samsung's approach with software, they will give it only if its necessary and they will give a stable build so it takes time.

But I dont agree with some policies also. The s7 edge with nougat still looks dated from s8 ui. That's actually unfair.

that's one of business tactics. If you rollout latest versions on older flagship, it may not perform well. One cannot fit Ferrari parts on ambassador. it will drive those phone users towards buying new ones.

I agree . if your phone have no issue why you worried about update. Samsung will surely provide update but it need time to provide bug free and fine update so that they have no issue one plus have bugs in Oreo update and same with mi a1 . so please wait and it will be pure update
