Software update

Hi

I am using samsung galaxy note 8. But the software is not uodating. Its still android 7 whereas note 8 is updated till android 9. Actually its still its initial version which is 2017. I hava tried manual update and also smart switch. Also i have reset the phone but no luck. Please suggest
