Seeing a weird message in contact search

Samsung folks, hello ! After the Q update i am seeing a weird message in the dialer search. 

It says : we are currently indexing your contact list to make search better. 

What the hell does that even mean ?

thats because of indexing service .. similar to windows index service to keep detailed information about location of data

i get what indexing is. all i want to know what is the benefit of doing indexing for the contact informations. indexing is mostly needed when the type of data to be searched is varied and is a large dataset. its then when indexing truly helps. but contact information is a fixed data and that too not so vast a dataset.
even if samsung is indexing the contact data, how long do you think it takes to index ? its been 3 weeks now and still i am seeing this wierd message.

i get what indexing is. but why is it required ? normal contact search does the job. what purpose is solved by using this ?
second, how long does it take to complete

it makes the search faster(as the data is indexed) and the time taken by it solely depends upon the amount of data in your phone.
