Hi. I updated my note 20 Ultra to the latest software release "One UI 3.0 and Android 11", and I am facing issues with Secure Folder apps notifications which is always content hidden even if I login successfully at my Secure Folder app. So, even if I unlocked my secure folder, the hidden related apps notifications should be changed from hidden to "view the content" in the notification panel of the user interface as this was the real scenario in the older One UI version.

kindly be informed that the secure folder setup already configured "Notification and Data" to hide the notification content while the phone is locked "and secure folder is locked".

Is this a bug that can be solved in the upcoming finetuning release, or I need to do some changes to make it as the previous setup and view?

knowing that I already uninstall secure folder app and re-enable it again with fresh setup.

I have the same problem

It is very annoying

Either shown or always hidden even after unlocking the secure folder

It was never like that

And the updates supposed to improve not to make a trouble :(

agree , i was thinking to contact samsung support directly for this issue , may be android 11 have some limitations for this functionality , for example may the notification history feature of android 11 trouble this feature , thats why they removed it

I found a solution, though it is tedious to setup, but works once you have done.

Let's think about Secure Folder as being a separate lock screen. So, our phone has 2 lock screens.

Once you are are in Secure folder, go to settings (by clicking on 3 dots) -> Notifications and Data -> and enable the "Show Content" and "Hide Content on Lock Screen" options.

And now begins the tedious work.

Start, by going in Secure Folder Settings -> Apps -> <App Name> -> Notifications. In this you will see various types of notifications possible in the app. Open each one, change "Show Content" to "Hide Content" under "Lock Screen" option. Basically what I feel is that, Samsung by default as left all the notification settings on "Show Content" which makes it show outside, or if you change it, it doesn't show anywhere (even within Secure Folder).

I checked this solution by sending email from one account to an other email account logged in Secure Folder Gmail, and by playing with "Show Content" under individual App settings, you can have more control over the things which you want to show.

If this works, please like and promote this as a solution. It will hopefully get attention help Samsung to implement in the upcoming patch.

Ok I had this problem and did your fix, thank you it worked... Until the last update recently.    I'm now on one UI 3.1 and android 11 and the secure folder app, WhatsApp specifically is displaying notification details again when my secure folder is in the locked state.  The setting are still as described, secure folder set to show notifications, app within secure folder set to hide content on lock screen for all message types.

Thats the bad news.  The good news is I believe this is a bug with notification types outside the secure folder.  I was able to solve this by changing the notification popup style outside of secure folder (settings/notifications) from brief to detailed.  I believe this is a bug with the brief notification type.

I'm really happy it worked for you. I haven't tried it for WhatsApp specifically, so don't know the exact solution. But the way you have described if it works, just follow it.
Samsung really needs to fix it, usually any update changes a few notification settings and you need to redo them again.
