I am not able to connectmy note 10+ to my alienware using the cable provided in box, it won't allow to transfer data even when connecting to a thunderbolt port in my alienware. Am able to transfer using a normal type c to a cable don't know if its something I'm doing wrong or If the cable provided in the box with note 10+ is only for charging and not for data transfer

Thunderbolt and USB-C are two completely different things. USB-C is nothing but a Connector (Proprietary in case of Apple) and has a total of 18 pins.
Thunderbolt 3 on the other hand, is the maximum usage of those 18 pins to transfer data upto 40 gbps. You laptop has to have a port which connects it's to all 18 pins, a.k.a a Thunderbolt port.

Hmm so why am I not able to transfer? In the thunderbolt shouldn't it support the type c cable provided by Samsung in the box
