Google Maps is stuck on satellite. How do I get back to default?

When I open Google Maps, it opens in the satellite mode.

Even though the street map option is called "default", it would default to it.  I can open in satellite, switch to street map, close the App, and come back, but it will always be in satellite.

Open maps
- Select Default
And then open settings and
Disable sart in satellite view.

This! This was my issue.I signed up for a login just to tell say thank YOU! Noone has been able to actually answer this question  for me eventhough lots of people think they know the answer. I tried (almost) everything. Cheers!
