I used to have a Galaxy S4 and LOVED the fact that we used to have a caller ID which displayed contact images on half the screen. It used to look really brilliant.
But in later phones (have a Note 8 and Note 9) the caller ID display during a call is just a little circular image, which looks more like an icon than a caller ID display.
Could the developers PLEASE enable or provide provisioning for users to be able to use full screen images for contacts as caller ID to be able to use the beautiful S-AMOLED to display more??

You may have been right @Dilli, had the rest of the screen been blacked out, which in turn would've powered off the pixels for that part.
But under the current scenario, we still have the remaining screen all lit up, with a flow like animation, so the battery consumption would remain the same.
Also, like @Sidhabhi pointed out, the effect on battery for lighting up the pixels when the phone rings (which lasts about 20-30 seconds) would be minuscule.
Also, not that us Android users cannot use 3rd party apps, but why use them, and allow them unnecessary permissions, when Samsung could enable it?
