there is no hard rule that any android phone will get only 2 major updates unless note8 hardware is still powerful with all the sensors & features till date in the market. Another reason is it's not common android phone to pay such reason if 2 major updates. Unless Google is unable to support upcoming os features with hardware limitations. Major updates logic is worthless unless business reasons. Samsung Note 8 is a good business phone in the market.
