In this lockdown times, I am using USB Tethering for data connection with my Samsung Galaxy Smartphone. It gets fully charged during that. So, should I care about this? means - Does overcharging can be bad for battery life? Because when I use hotspot it gets heated too and that I think is more responsible for damaging battery.
So, what should be choosed? Any better suggestions?

Well, battery these days are equipped with smart features so they won't overcharge. And yes Hotspot drains more juice also leads to overheating. So don't charge your phone while using Hotspot.

No I don't need to turn on Hotspot when it is connected to laptop because then it charges it as well as shares the data connection.
I think usb tethering is better then.
