Upgrading OS to latest Android version is always a  welcome approach for the users but making it better in key areas are one of the big challenge that Samsung should take in mind. One UI 3.1 has ruined the camera in M40, autofocus is now slow, colour difference in main camera and portrait is like North and South. It feels like I am taking a photo from a different phone.
Night Mode is useless. Picture Quality is now worst. Front camera quality has also downgraded.

Earlier I used to say good thing about the camera but with this update there is nothing Good in it. Hope Samsung will fix the issue in their next software update.

You can try clearing camera cache and firce stop it then try after cleaning the lens of your phone..
If he same problem occurs then give that feedback to Samsung they will fix that with an upcoming update
