Galaxy MSo planning for sending videos or photos over nfc is waste. Secondly nfc requires very close coverage whereas with wifi you can even get coverage out of the room as well.
So why nfc?
Its very useful in case of payments. So, here its coverage drawback bacome most useful stuff.
Secondly, regarding data transfer then cards hardly used to cantains some bits so it won't take much time.
So, don't stress yourself for nfc if going for data transfer.

Galaxy MBut galaxy m40 despite having NFC feature doesn't support Samsung pay which is based on NFC. I don't understand why would they do that.

Galaxy MIf they give same in M series then there is no difference between M & A left.
I knew Samsung is worst in case of series because some M series are bit costlier than A but lacks knox security.
