Often we see the application size in play store is 20 Mb but when it install then size in ram and system space is 200 mb. This is the compact pack of application. After download and install its extract own written tasks and command in system. So basically you can say it's a zipped size of programs and .apk extensions is thought as a .zip who compress size and holds contents in it.
Linux read apk file and fallow command to install roots and destination tasks as written in apk file.
So its take space after install.

It's better to keep Optimization time to time when your ram and running memory is increasing.
How to. Please follow this steps.
Press and hold your home screen.
You can see widget, wallpaper, theme, home scree option.
Select widget
Choose Optimization
In Optimization, there are two contents of widget.
Choose second one who show memory and ram status.
Long press choosen widget of Optimization (Second)
Drag to your home screen and left it here.
Now you can see the total memory and available memory of system.
Also you can see the ram status of your phone.
So when you see your ram going to take more space so just press icon on widget (Optimization)
It will clear your un used apps who still running in background and provide more space to execute the new apps.
Your phone will work better after Optimization.
