I have the 4/64 GB model (SM-M205F). After unboxing with the original Android 8 and no update battery life was quite good. It deteriorated after each update to the point that in Android 9, a considerable increase in power consumption and decrease in battery life is seen.
Before any update, I was getting ~ 8-9h Screen-On-Time going from 100% to 15% charge. Now after the latest update, I'm barely seeing ~6-7h SoT !! There is clearly something wrong with the new firmware since I don't have any facebook/twitter/etc apps or games or any other 3rd party cleaner/optimizer installed.
There is also a CameraLightSensor (v3.0) process that is consuming disproportionate charge IMO. This was not the case in Oreo because I was constantly checking the battery status panel and it was not there (or consuming so much charge). As a matter of fact, M20 actually has a light sensor! What is the use of this camera-based virtual sensor anyway?
I'm expecting an engineer from Samsung see to this issue and report the result becase the 5000mAh battery is draining too fast on Android 9 on Galaxy M20 and the battery backup was the main feature in driving many of the customers to buy this phone.
