Play with the iso and shutter speed. More shutter speed means brighter images as the shutter will let in more light. Similarly more the iso, the brighter the images. So, the perfect settings depend on the scenario at your hand. So take some sample shots with iso and shutter speeds set at different levels. You will find out the right mix yourself. It's mainly about finding the perfect balance between iso and shutter speed.
For eg: To take the photos of the night sky, you will have to keep the shutter speed at the maximum available, which will be 10 or 30 seconds depending on your device. Then test keeping the iso anywhere between 300 to 800. If the shot comes out too bright at 800, reduce it till you find the better shot and vice-versa.
Nb: use a tripod(or keep the phone somewhere steady)whenever the shutter speed used is more.
