I often had trouble locking AF/AE, where it would lock sometimes while other times it won't.
I used to think that just tapping and holding anywhere on the camera screen would lock them.
But I recently realised that the correct way to lock them was to wait for the white focus ring to turn yellow. Only after it turns yellow can you actually trigger the AF/AE lock.
