Samsung provides a newer Kernel on their Android updates.
Qualcomm has released a version 4.9 Kernel for Snapdragon 425 devices.
J6+ runs on Snapdragon 425 I tried porting my j6+ device to the 4.9 kernel that Qualcomm released and I wasn't able to complete it because it was really tricky due to the lack of some logs information and stuff.
What I am saying is that this delay is probably for the best since kernel 4.9 gives greater stability and performance for devices.
There should be like 20% performance gain on using a 4.9 kernel (Unless they underclock the device for some weird reason)
I am ready to wait.
And j8 device runs of different SoC (Processor, for those who dont understand)
