I m using J7 and am facing problem of internal memory full. I often delete hidden files from internal storage. But a folder name .thumbnails in Dcim folder uses a lot of space normaly more than 1 gb. When i delete that folder after sometime it appears again and eating memory. I read about it that it is a backup type file. But i dont feel it useful. please suggest some idea to fix it. so that i free up more space in my device.

Hello Sunny ,
Hidden folder thumbnail is used for backup and that is as per design.
I also agree that if internal memory is running out , then performance of the phone gets degraded.
So you can use below tips to free internam memory.

(1) Save photos and videos to EXTERNAL SD card by default rather than internal storage
(2) Clean your ‘junk’ and cache files [Settings > Storage > Tap on Cached Data > It will ask whether you need to clear Cache or not]
(3) Uninstall apps you do not use

Better make use of your External SD card for this.
You can even move some of your 3rd party games/applications to SD Card
For this please follow these steps.
Settings > Applications > Application Manager > Select which app to be moved > MOVE TO SD CARD

This will free the internal memory. 🙂

If you still feel the performance not getting improved, then please don't hesitate to share the device logs to admin[at]galaxyforum[dot]com

How to take logs ?
dial *#9900#>>Run dumpstate/logcat/modemlog
Once the logs are captured
Tap on "Copy to sdcard(include CP Ramdump)" option.
Then open My Files. Logs got copied to "log" folder.

Zip the logs folder and upload the logs to this post or email to admin@galaxyforum.com
