Category: One UI – System Experience

Post: Hello Samsung Team, As a loyal Samsung user for the past 9 years, I've appreciated the continuous evolution of One UI. However, with the release of One UI 7, there are recurring inconsistencies that continue to impact the experience for users who deeply value visual and functional cohesion. I'd like to highlight a few of these issues:

1. Color Palette Saturation - The system-generated palettes are often aggressively vibrant, lacking emotional subtlety and visual harmony. For users who prefer refined, contextual tones, this palette system falls short.

2. Theme Park Conflict with Dynamic Widgets - Applying custom themes via Theme Park disables live clock and calendar icons. This forces a frustrating choice between personalization and functionality—compromising the very premise of One UI.

3. UI Fragmentation Across Apps - Third-party apps rarely adopt system theming or visual fluency, breaking design continuity. Compared to platforms like iOS, One UI lacks a strong “design gravity” to unify the ecosystem.

4. Inconsistent Dynamic Behavior - Dynamic elements behave unpredictably when themes are applied—causing disruption in flow and rhythm. Customization should enhance the experience, not fracture it.

5. Missed Leadership Potential - Samsung has the reach and versatility to lead Android design philosophy. But without a more unified aesthetic system and developer-friendly guidelines, the experience feels disjointed.

I share this feedback with respect and optimism. I hope future iterations of One UI can offer greater consistency, retain dynamic functionality within customization tools, and foster deeper integration across apps. Thank you for listening,
Aritra , Samsung User Since 2017
