Galaxy FThere is one more thing you can try:
1. Remove your Google account.
2. Delete app data for Google app.
3. Delete app data for Google Play Services.
4. Delete app data for Google Services Framework.
5. Reboot.
6. Add your Google account.
7. Put the widget back.
Very cumbersome, but you can try. It know it is pretty annoying.
