Fingerprint sensor doesn't work all the time to unlock the device. this problem is coming from 1month. It dont recognise the fingerprint until we unlock it with other password once.

its not a error but a safety precaution

it happens mostly in day time. not like after reboot. if I reboot the device then fingerprint works nicely or else i have to put the password to unlock the device.

Thanks for being a part of Samsung community. For better fingerprint recognition follow the below conditions:-

• Ensure that the fingerprint recognition sensor and your fingers are clean and dry.
• The device may not recognise fingerprints that are affected by wrinkles or scars.
• If you bend your finger or use a fingertip, the device may not recognise your fingerprints. Make sure to cover the entire fingerprint recognition sensor with your finger.

If still issue persists after following above conditions kindly follow the below steps:
- Navigate to apps >> Settings >> Apps >> Tap on three dots >> Reset app preferences.
- Please run your device in safe mode.
- Please do reset your device on factory mode after taking the data backup Via Smart switch.

After following the steps of Reset App preference, all the contacts on whatsapp lost their names but seeing the same number in Contacts app we get their name and number as it was before resetting preferences. Kindly provide full warnings to the members so they think nicely before taking the steps.
