I am facing a serious heating problem while charging in my Samsung A50.... in the upper portion of my phone.

You can opt for refund/replacement. Disabling fast charging if not neccessary can reduce heat.

so if my phone is in the warranty period, will i be able to get it exchanged ?

Yes at least you should be eligible for replacement, just provide them as much detail as possible describing your issue. Do note that replaced phones might not always be new in a sealed package.
