Galaxy A
So i was having this issue since 4 days.
I recently updated my device so i thought its a glitch but now i realize that samsung intentionally did this.
The new update really makes fingerprint reading fast and secure.
*Step 1- Check if you screen protector is not scratched or damaged in the area of fingerprint reader.
*Step 2- Change screen protector if possible.
*Step 3- Go in setting->biometric->fingerprint Remove all old registered fingerprints
*Step 4- Go to Add new fingerprints
(Make sure your finger and screen is clean)
Tap Add fingerprint
*Step 5- place your thumb as shown in the image.(exactly as same as shown)
Now keep lifting and pressing different spots until your mobile show % in scanning process.
*Step 6 -Once you get percentage remember to not change location of thumb.
*Step 7- Add next print @ same location
*Step 8- Now move your thumb just a little, remember the part of your old print should also come in your next print.
Everytime you move finger remember to keep the part of previous scan in new scan.
While scanning remember to tap slowly and keep your fingerprint on screen for 2-3 seconds.
(New fingerprint adding process takes a lot time but the update really made the fingerprint scanning faster)

We are doing the same but it is not working.
this may be Finger print sensor issue.
it is Optical FP sensor, much slow.
