Hi Guys,

I brought A52s 5g in March and now received a notification about samsung care+ plans. I opened the option and it's confusing, the 2 years plan can be activated till 30 days of device activation and 1 year can be activated till 365 days, both plans are valid for 2 years.

So I can take 1 year plan and will it be valid for repairs till March 2024 and is it worth?

Thanks and have a great day!

Are you talking about 1 year extended warranty? If yes, then it's worth doing because of the display issues and other hardware issues faced by A52 series (back panel)and S20 series (display).

However, I couldn't activate that plan because in my case they showed that the plan can be activated only till 180 days after the purchase.

Same here, the extended warranty plan can be activated till 180 days so it is confusing while as 1 year comprehensive plan can be activated till 365 days and valid for 24 months.

I think, I need to connect with samsung customer care to clarify with this issue. I'll update.

Yes, you should clarify it. Otherwise they will deny free service in the future based on minute terms and conditions. I have seen such posts here, where even after having extended warranty the service was denied due to some reasons.

I heard samsung denied someone repair under warranty because side panel has a small color chip off, the repair was about motherboard. The color chip off which was few mm in length and because it was in phone case.

First, it was weak paint which chip off in normal wear tear and in no way it was related to motherboard defect. There's why, out of fear and knowing that even warranty won't ensure us about the repair when needed, I didn't buy care plan at the time of purchase of phone.
I still in fear and confusion as i asked this question, of course, I was not explicit with "worth" and wanted to get some feedback which you shared. I will clarify the issue but I believe, samsung has lost trust already. What if plan is available, I get it and later samsung deny on some irrelevant ground?

I totally understand you because that's the same reason why I didn't go for the plan immediately after purchasing. However, when I saw so many manufacturing issues creeping up every day on this platform I decided to go for it but then as already stated the time was over as per their new policy.

So, this is why I decided to bite the bullet despite my serious apprehensions about whether Samsung will keep their end of the promise. Mostly we will be able to make them meet the promises made under the deal if we are able to present our case well and escalate the issue. They may reject at the first instance but when we prove to be adamant and keep on escalating the issue on social media and all, they will approve it if our demand is justified.

Yeah, there is a risk of course. But the cost of motherboard replacement will be much higer. Nevertheless, none of the snapdragon varients had reported motherboard issues till now. So yeah, it's a tricky decision.

I called the customer care and they confirmed that no warranty extension or any samsung care plan is available for phone purchased in March and I should check the actual offer by entering imei number for plans shown in my Galaxy app to check eligibility. The one showing activation till 365 days is also showing buy now in gray. Bad luck with samsung.

I also brought only snapdragon knowing it's reliability and having bad experience with Exynos before. Let's hope snapdragon doesn't disappoint us and samsung service updates don't do any shady business in future.

Yeah, that happened with me too. Until I entered the imei, it was showing as eligible. But after entering, everything was greyed out.

Anyway, let's take it positively. Now there is no scope for confusion at least. 😂
